hadoop - Cloudera support for docker container or Docker support for CM 5 image -

recently org considering docker. our grouping using cloudera cdh 5.1.2.

1) cloudera compatable docker container? 2) there known issue related docker , cloudera combination?

i not find topic on docker in forum.

any pointer helpful.

i read through docker is, yesterday. not think has been tested, there number of platform virtualization projects in progress, did not see on list.

lookt @ intent, might work definately want test. thing i'm concearned level of effort normalize between distribution types there big volume of subcomponents brought straight cdh "parcel" platform specific.

you might able cm server , agents deployed in generic way, want cm manage deployment of cdh parcel across target "cluster" 1 time online, rather abstracting install well.

bottom line installing cloudera manager within docker container not seem easy route, because cm needs manage installation of other hadoop components.

other options include:

using vagrant create cdh vm cloudera manager (cloudera documentation link) managing cdh components manually without cloudera manager (cloudera documentation link)
