i new android development , socket programming.i trying connect 2 mobiles on different networks using sockets. able connect 2 devices on same network or lan. inquire 2 things. 1. how can 2 devices can communicated lets 1 on 3g , other using wifi. 2. string fe90::c762:7acc:a801:dc87%wlan. next link has code retruns 2 things 1 above string , 192.168.1.5 ip adress. not sure string is. can please explain? thanks!!

generally, not possible. wifi networks issue private ip addresses; mobile carriers issue private ip addresses. need 1 or both of them public ip addresses straight communicate each other. standard p2p communications problem , has nil android -- run same problem connecting 2 desktops on different networks.
