sphinx - sphinxsearch service fails after upgrade from Ubuntu 13.10 to 14.04 -
after performing upgrade on server 13.10 14.04, i'm getting next error when starting sphinxsearch process via service sphinxsearch start
fatal: use_64bit inconsistency (binary=1, binlog=0); recovery requires previous binary version
i've performed searches seek figure out why happening , how resolve, haven't found much helps. i've seen people getting on windows, hasn't done much help either.
if has insight this, i'd appreciate it!
okay, well, did little farther digging , found this:

just delete binlog.meta file , restart service. no farther error.
