How to remotely connect to MySQL on Windows Server 2012 R2 -

i have installed mysql on windows server 2012 r2 using microsoft's web platform installer.

what i'm having problem how remotely connect it? i'm able launch mysql command prompt on server , can see running on port 3306, uses root username, right password , can see hostname (the name of server).

i have enabled inbound rule in windows firewall port 3306 there else need do? i'm trying connect using mysql workbench on pc not getting far.

most need right my.ini , either comment bind-address variable, set 127.0.0.1 default, or set server's ip address value.
