Is there a way to prefill the autocomplete entries in Excel for Mac 2011 -

i have table plant details. abbreviation, genus, species, mutual name etc.

this table reference table.

i have inventory table can type in code, are, how many, how big, etc. fills in mutual name doing lookup on first table.

now, when entering abbreviation have autocomplete pre-filled typed first few letters, matching abbreviations show up.

things want avoid:

i not want utilize dropdown list 200 items. way much scrolling. i not want utilize mouse @ all. come in few characters, tab next field. if combo boxes worked on mac on pc, combo box , clever vba still require clicking on arrow. may keyboard combos help though.

i tried putting plant info table above inventory table abbreviation columns lined up. no go. tables seem maintain isolated auto finish lists.

is there clever way fill autocomplete list named range?

put long versions in table (and if inclined so, hide rows).
