php - Can't access PHPMyAdmin -

i have mamp server installed on macbook , worked fine, until tried add together password 'root' user of localhost. selected password , whenever go localhost:8888/phpmyadmin, page gives me error saying:

1045 - access denied user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: yes)

it says scheme tried connecting mysql, mysql rejected connection , have check username , password settings.

why acting weird , how can phpmyadmin work?

it says need check config.inc.php file, can't find file in mamp folder.

the config file should under: /applications/mamp/bin/phpmyadmin-x.x.x/config.inc.php

edit , verify username//password used
