sql server - SQLColumns: Date column is displayed as a varchar column -

i want know info type columns in table. called odbc function sqlcolumns. each column has type "date" function says column varchar, not so. info info type know through field "data_type" homecoming int code of type -9, code must 91. what's problem, please tell me.

p.s. utilize retrieving info columns standard c++ code illustration on official page. p.p.s other dbms function sqlcolumns() works correctly

i guess dependent on odbc driver using. if not back upwards (or request) 2008 or later tds version, type date correctly returned varchar.
