i had image in project removed (remove references) due not needing it.

it transpires need it, when seek re-create next error - though image not in images folder more - how fixed?

open folder (in finder) app contained in. shortcut right click on object , take "show in finder". 1 time you're in folder, hunt around image named "962-puzzle-piece@2x.png". when find it, delete (drag trash).

when 'remove references', xcode leaves image in project folder, , doesn't show you. when seek add together image of same name, fails because there's image name in folder xcode tries add together to.

you can avoid exclusively selecting "move trash" in dialog when delete things:
