i have simple theme below

right when navigate localhost , site root directory able see content header.php , footer.php , page.php.

then, generated pages navigation bar , improve url updated permalink default post name format

now while have the clean ur as: permalink: http://localhost/rumipress/eyeglasses/

but when click view page getting

i google , find hints (.htaccess) copied same format cedex

but still getting same result. can please allow me know why happening?

apache's mod_rewrite module needs enabled in order "pretty" permalinks work in wordpress, specified in codex.

you're using wamp, can done by:

left click on greenish wamp icon in notification tray click on apache --> apache modules enable rewrite_module (make sure it's checked)
