i using orange windows 7. upgraded 8.1 (64) not run more. have installed fresh versions several times not run. icons show though application neither load nor run.

a part of orange in c++, it's compiled dll needs compatible python. orange installs python unless it's installed. did chance have 64-bit python? official orange binary runs on 32-bits, requires 32-bit python. if these assumptions correct, have either switch 32-bit python, build orange on 64-bits or find pre-compiled on 1 of sites http://www.lfd.uci.edu/~gohlke/pythonlibs/#orange, guess.

otherwise, start orange "-l 4" alternative , you'll lot of output during startup.
